project overview
After conducting research amongst 1,300 parents of deaf children The NDCS discovered that that there was no single source of information for bringing up deaf children. They also learned that parents consistently found six key areas in which they had difficulties bringing up their children.
We created a CD-ROM that reflected these 6 areas and took the format of a series of filmed interviews with parents, supported by subtitles and sign language. Friendly, informative and easy to use, the work really hit the mark and actually made a difference to people's lives.
The CD-ROM's impact didn't go unnoticed amongst our peers, as we won a prestigious BIMA award for the work - which really was the cherry on the cake.
