Last year’s Christmas do was a roaring success of outdoor activities, so this year the party organisers decided paintballing would be a good way to spend a Wintery December day. To be honest, we were all dreading it a bit and it was freeeezing cold as we made our way to work on the last Friday before Christmas, but what a brilliant day we had. Here are the pics:http://www.flickr.com/photos/e3media/sets/72157623011615071/
It kicked off with bacon and sausages sarnies to provide some much needed energy before we headed off to Hamburger Hill to pelt each other with paint. We duly attired ourselves in combat gear, face and head protection and patiently pretended to listen to the safety advice whilst working out who to target first.
We were split into red and blue teams, with a Mike or a Stu each and an even quota of girls. First off was a game of defence and attack, where the first to touch the other team’s line won. Blue team failed, red team won twice. Next up, ‘Mission Impossible’ with one team defending an incredible fort and the other team aiming for the treasure hidden within it. Red team timed out being chickens, not making it close enough to grab the goal. Blue team triumphed! Mission not so impossible (if you deem cheating ok, Ant and Lee…) Even stevens.
To use up the last of the paintballs, we had a free for all shoot ‘em up: shoot anyone you like, and you’re not out if you’re shot. Mayhem!! Ant “14 bruises” Webster was brutally (but amusingly) attacked by both sides, Ben “mole” Richardson snuck onto the blue team to attack from the inside, whilst Robin “screamer” Glen got pelted on the arse by Vic “evil” James.
